This City Never Sleeps

What a spring break! New York City can be summed up in just a few words; Amazing, busy, incredible, and expensive! As I have said, my boyfriend Anthony got me tickets to go see Wicked on Broadway. The musical was absolutely amazing, and we had an adventure just walking around the city.
Here is the Statue of Liberty. That was the first thing we did when we got to NYC. We got to go inside the Statue, and took some amazing pictures of Ellis Island and the skyline of the city. We had to take a ferry over, and to me it felt just like I was an immigrant coming to the US for the first time. It was a cool feeling.

Here's a picture of me and Ellis Island.

Another thing that was really cool was Times Square. It was totally caotic, but so much fun! There were so many people, and so many things to look at. One of those things being SAMUEL L. JACKSON!

I'm just kidding :-). That's the wax figure of him. We were going to go into Madame T's, which is a wax celebrity museum kind of thing. It was way too expensive for two college kids though.
Here's a picture of Times Square.

For the rest of the trip, we just mainly walked around NYC, checking out the local scene. We went into China Town, and ate at some really cool restaurants. We were trying to get to Little Italy beacuse the people we were staying with said that there was this one little shop where they had the best Italien food, and we got on the J subway. If anyone knows anything about NYC subways, the J train is probably the most scary, hands down. We never made it to Little Italy, and we told the people we were staying with said that if we survived the J train, we could do ANYTHING.
On Tuesday, we went to Central Park and the Guggenhiem. Both were really cool. Central Park is huge. You wouldn't believe just how big it is. We got so lost in it. We were literally in that park for two hours, and we couldn't find our way out. We were going to go to the zoo, but there just wasn't enough time. Here's me in Central Park. My room mate said that that rock was in Sex and the City. I felt really cool :-)
Wednesday, which was also our last day in the NYC, we went to the Empire State Building. The forcast for Wednesday was nothing but rain. The day that we had to look very nice, of course. As we were going up the top of the Empire State Building, every single employee that worked there told us that there was zero visibility. Anthony and I were both having second thoughts about going up because we didn't want to watse $36, but we decided to just do it. How many times am I ever going to be in New York City?! So, while going up, everyone kept asking us and acting like we were so dumb to be going up when we couldn't see anything. Well, we got to the top, and you really couldn't see anything. We did get a good picture of us though :-)
The last thing that we did was go see WICKED! It was amazing. I cried for no reason. We were 7 rows back, so that might have been the reason. It was so good. The whole cast was amazing and right on with everything. We were so close that I saw things that I had never seen before, and I had seen it 2 other times. It was amazing, no other way to put it. It's one of those once and a lifetime things, one that will give me chills for as long as I can remember.

All amazing things have to end, sadly. On Thursday, we headed back to Ohio (which by the way was 10 hours back to my hometown). However, my niece Sadie was there :-) It was so nice to see her because I have not seen her once since she was born. She's beautiful. She could make anyone wish that they had a baby :-)
Now that it's Monday, I'm back to reality, and I have a ton of homework. Why can't it always be Spring Break?! :-p
I'll post later!
Bye!
